MAVlab Innovation Associates Network

Publish date:

After the success of our MAVlab launch during the National General Assembly in Canberra, it's exciting to get down to the innovative work the lab will be immersed in.

And the MAV is hitting the ground running, as we introduce our MAVlab Innovation Associates Network. We know that many councils are already testing bold interventions and partnerships to address some of our most significant environmental, economic and community wellbeing challenges.

The MAV is seeking the extraordinary people behind these projects - and those eager to get more involved - to share knowledge, process, and build collaborative practice so we may learn together - and move faster and more efficiently - towards achieving better outcomes for our local communities, places and the planet.

MAV’s Chief Innovator in Residence Bonnie Shaw said the MAVlab Innovation Associates Network is a unique opportunity for local government staff to access a community of highly skilled and supportive professionals eager to support more resilient and robust local government through an evolving practice of innovation for the public good.

“If you (or someone you know) are passionate about innovation in local government - we want to hear from you - no matter what area of council you work in or your level of experience!” Ms Shaw said.

“I firmly believe that innovation can come from anyone, anywhere in an organisation and we are building the MIA Network to be inclusive of a wide diversity of skills, backgrounds and ways of thinking.”

MAV President Cr David Clark said the MAVlab Innovation Associates Network was an exciting next step for MAVlab.

“We’re riding the momentum of our launch in Canberra, and can’t wait to have more extraordinary people from the sector join the MAVlab,” Cr Clark said.
