State Government Housing announcements - MAV Bulletin

Publish date:

Local government is a leader and critical partner in shaping the future of our city and creating neighbourhoods that are thriving and great places to live.

This week the State Government has made several announcements addressing housing and planning reform.

The MAV reiterates the need to make sure all future residents – be they first home-buyers, young families, or older generations downsizing – have appropriate access to well-connected transport options, parks and greenery, and employment opportunities.

Once local government elections are finalised, councils will be at the ready to partner with the State Government on reform on many of this week’s announcements, including subdivision, development contributions, Activity Centres, and new greenfield projects.
