Victorian Government's Senior Victorians Advisory Committee 

We are pleased to have the MAV's Director, Community and Sector Development Kath Brackett representing the MAV and the local government sector on the new Senior Victorians Advisory Committee.

This appointment strengthens local government's voice in shaping positive ageing policies and programs across Victoria.

Announced by the Minister for Ageing, Ms Ingrid Stitt MP, the committee will work alongside diverse community representatives and sector experts. It will also play a crucial role in the implementation of the Ageing Well Action Plan 2022-2026, ensuring older Victorians continue to thrive and contribute to our communities.

In addition to this, the committee will raise awareness of the positive contributions and meaningful participation of older people in social, economic and cultural life, as well as promoting rights and respect for older Victorians.
